Resting the Engines

Resting the Engines began as a photograph of parked locomotive engines in an Oklahoma City rail yard. I waited until I had an overcast sky (although the cloud cover wasn't too deep) to get the shot I wanted. I shot it with a small lens using a small file. This gave me a delicate file I could use with a high contrast with applied inks onto a watercolor paper. The results gave me the strength of the engines before a dynamic sky.

20x30 canvas is glorious
