It's Sunday! Time for church!

This Guadalupe Mosaic within the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is a beautiful work of art. Tiny pieces of glass by the thousands make up this beautiful place to kneel and say a prayer. 

The basilica is an awesome place to worship in...or if you are a tourist, come for a tour. The shrine is huge, so be prepared to spend an hour visiting the church and its many Oratories for private prayer. There are docents available to give a great tour. It is heavily visited by visitors to Washington DC.

Although the church is huge with intimidating an staircase to enter, I want to point out that is handicap friendly with a street entrance located street level to the right of the staircase entrance. There is a security/doorman and an elevator to take you to church level.
